Birthplace: Peru

PhD (2020 - 2025) and master's degree (2018 - 2020) in Cell and Molecular Biology at Ribeirão Preto Medical School, University of São Paulo (FMRP-USP), at Laboratory of Cellular and Molecular Biology of Trypanosomatids, leading by Dr. Munira Baqui. Doctorate Exchange Program by CAPES/PrInt (April/2024 - September/2024) at Barcelona Institut for Global Health (ISGlobal), attached to the Barcelona Clinic Hospital, of the Faculty of Medicine and Health Sciences at University of Barcelona, Spain. Bachelor degree (2013 - 2017) in Medical Laboratory Scientist (MLS) at the Faculty of Medicine at Universidad Nacional Mayor de San Marcos (Perú) with a research internship at the University of São Paulo (2017). PhD research project focused on host-pathogen interaction in Trypanosoma cruzi infection, agent of Chagas disease, investigating the effects of infection and its extracellular vesicles (EVs) on the host cell nucleus. Experience in cell and molecular biology techniques such as cell culture, infection, confocal and super resolution microscopy, immunofluorescence, western blotting, electron microscopy, PCR (conventional and real time), protein purification, nucleic acid and protein electrophoresis, comet assay, ultracentrifugation, flow cytometry, and characterization of extracellular vesicles. Areas of expertise: host-pathogen interaction, in-vitro infection, nucleic acid and protein analysis, extracellular vesicles, DNA damage and repair, cell cycle, mutagenesis, confocal fluorescence microscopy.Currently, he is a postdoctoral researcher at the Laboratory of Molecular Biology of Leishmanias, under the supervision of Dr. Luiz Tosi, in the Department of Cellular and Molecular Biology and Pathogenic Bioagents, at FMRP-USP, investigating mechanisms of response to DNA damage and characterization of the genomic plasticity Leishmania parasites.
