Graduated in Veterinary Medicine from the Universidade Estadual Paulista Júlio de Mesquita Filho (1991), Master's in Clinical Veterinary Surgery from the University of São Paulo (1995), and Ph.D. in Clinical Veterinary Surgery from the University of São Paulo (2000) and post-doctorate at the University of Florida in 2006-2007. He completed a residency for the American College of Veterinary Surgery in 2021 at the University of Florida. He was a Full Professor at the University of São Paulo from 2002 to 2018 and Head of the Small Animal Orthopedics Service at the Faculty of Veterinary Medicine at USP. He is an instructor at the AO-"Arbeitsgemeinschaft fur Osteosynthesefragen" (Association for the Study of Internal Fixation, Switzerland). He served from 07/2015 to 06/2018 as Chairperson of AOVET Latin America, and also Chairperson of AOVET Community Development, from 07/2016-06/2021 He is currently an Associate Professor at the University of Tennessee, Knoxville. He has experience in Veterinary Medicine, with an emphasis on Small Animal Orthopedics, great interest in corrective osteotomies of angular limb deformities, circular fixators, treatment and rehabilitation of patients with significant bone trauma, and knee disorders in dogs.
