Bruno Cesar Barbosa

PhD in Social Anthropology from the University of São Paulo and Postdoctoral Researcher in Gender Studies Center Pagu at the State University of Campinas. He did research internship abroad at the Center for Research in Anthropology Network in Lisbon, Portugal. Your work is at the interface between Anthropology of Science and Gender and Sexuality Studies, in the pursuit of understanding of the role of science in the production of gender and sexuality categories, especially of medicine and psychology in the construction of subjectivity models. Currently, he holds a post-doctoral research on the production of knowledge about "trans people" through the controversies surrounding the right to medical procedures of body transformations of sex. He aims to understand how this knowledge is co-produced in the relationship, sometimes tense, between science, activism, the claims of social movements and public policies. (Source: Lattes Curriculum)
