Graduated with a Bachelor's degree in Agricultural Sciences and a Bachelor's degree in Biology, and holds a Master's and a Ph.D. in Sciences (Area of Concentration: Veterinary Parasitology) from UFRRJ - Universidade Federal Rural do Rio de Janeiro. During the Ph.D., was selected as a "Nota 10" Scholar by the Research Support Foundation of the State of Rio de Janeiro - FAPERJ.Completed a postdoctoral fellowship at Universidade Estadual Júlio de Mesquita Filho - UNESP Campus Botucatu, with a scholarship provided by the Research Support Foundation of the State of São Paulo - FAPESP.Worked as a researcher for the Research Support Foundation of the State of São Paulo - FAPESP and currently works as a researcher for the Research Support Foundation of the State of Alagoas - FAPEAL and the National Council for Scientific and Technological Development (CNPq). Also a member of the Brazilian Association of Pathologists of Aquatic Organisms - ABRAPOA.Is a professor and accredited researcher in the Animal Sciences Graduate Program at UFAL - Federal University of Alagoas. Recently accredited as a collaborator to the Postgraduate Program in the PRODEMA network, by the Federal University of Sergipe - UFS, supervising master's students, with experience in the areas of Ecology and Taxonomy of fish parasites and studies involving microparasites of aquatic organisms and their importance in the environmental context and the health of aquatic organisms in the coastal region and inland waters of Brazil. He is currently developing projects related to socio-environmental themes and extension projects with social technologies. Leads ecosystem study projects of lagoon ecosystems, with an emphasis on the Mundaú-Manguaba Lagoon Estuarine Complex (CELMM). Participated in the CELMM Management Committee as a counselor and conducts research in other river basins of the state of Alagoas, such as the Pratagy River basin and the Coruripe River basin.
