We plan to study minimal affinizations of quantum groups as defined by V. Chari. The main open problems we shall focus on are the completion of the classification of the equivalence classes of such representations in terms of their highest l-weights and the description of their structure via closed formulas for their characters or l-characters.
The goal of the project for the MSc. of student Fernanda Pereira is to give her a solid back ground on the theory of Lie algebras and a good introduction to their representation theory. In particular, the student will study the affine Kac-Moody and their finite-dimensional representations, where she will work on Kirillov-Reshetikhin modules.
