Lecturer in the Department of Physics, Federal University of Piauí since 2013. Graduated with a BA in Physics from the Federal University of Piauí (2002 - 2006) and has a Ph.D. in Applied Physics from the Institute of Physics of São Carlos, USP (2007-2012). Attended sandwich doctorate degree for 6 months in the Department of Electronic Engineering, Bangor University, North Wales (2009-2010). At the end of the doctoral did postdoctoral studies at the Institute of Physics of São Carlos, USP (2013). Dr. Maciel held a visiting research position at the Physics Department at Imperial College London, London, England (2015-2016).Dr. Alexandre Maciel conducts research in the area of basic physics of electrical properties of organic materials based thin films and opto-electronics . During a doctorate developed experimental and theoretical research in field effect transistors using polymers as semiconductors and insulators. Currently, he is working on the preparation, characterization and simulation of electronic properties of organic photovoltaic devices. (Source: Lattes Curriculum)
