He started his teaching career in 1992 with the Department of Mechatronics Engineering, University of São Paulo, where he is currently an Associate Professor - level 3. He earned a degree in Mechanical Engineering from the School of Engineering at the University of São Paulo, São Paulo, Brazil, in 1990. Continuing at the University of Sao Paulo, in 1994 and 2000, respectively, he received a Master´s degree and a Doctorate degree, both in Mechanical Engineering. From September 2001 to March 2003, he was a Post-Doctoral Fellow with the Instituto de Acústica, Spanish Council of Scientific Research. His research interests include development of ultrasonic transducers for nondestructive testing and medical imaging, modeling of wave propagation through interfaces, and characterization of liquids and solids by ultrasound.
