Bachelor's degree in Computer Science from the Federal University of Ouro Preto - UFOP (2003), Ph.D. in Applied Computing from the National Institute for Space Research - INPE (2009). He was a postdoctoral fellow (FAPESP scholarship holder) at INPE in 2009 and a research fellow abroad (BPE/FAPESP) at the Faculty of Economics (FEP) of the University of Porto in 2017. He was a professor at São Paulo State University Júlio de Mesquita Filho (UNESP), Guaratinguetá campus, from September 2009 to January 2011. Since 2011, he has been a professor at the Federal University of São Paulo (UNIFESP), São José dos Campos campus (Institute of Science and Technology - ICT). He was coordinator of the Graduate Program in Operations Research (PPG-PO) in association between UNIFESP and ITA from 2018 to 2021. Currently, he is an Associate Professor IV and coordinator of the Graduate and Research Council of ICT/UNIFESP. He has experience in the field of Operations Research, working mainly on the following topics: Heuristics and Metaheuristics, Combinatorial Optimization Problems, and Mathematical Formulations.
