I currently hold a principal investigator position at the Centro de Pesquisa Boldrini, supported by the Conhecimento Brasil grant from CNPq, working on investigating acute lymphoblastic leukemia and apoptosis. I completed my postdoctoral research at the laboratory of Dr Claudio Hetz at the University of Chile working on projects related to apoptosis and its intarface with cellular and microvesicle biology. During the same period, I held a scientific advisor position in a collaboration between the lab and Boehringer Ingelheim Germany working on a proprietary project involving ER stress, unfolded protein responses and apoptosis. I received my Ph.D. in cancer biology from the University of Liverpool, UK, studying the therapeutic mechanisms of BH3 mimetics-mediated apoptosis in cancer. During my Ph.D., I have published two first-author papers and until this date, contributed to more than five papers from the group. I have also published a first-author paper based on my masters degree thesis, working on biomarkers in an animal model of acute lymphoblastic leukemia and another first-author paper for my undergraduate scientific initiation studies.
