André Ricardo Gonçalves has Bachelor's degree in Computer Science (2008) from State University of Londrina (Paraná, Brazil) and Master's degree in Electrical Engineering (2010) from University of Campinas (São Paulo, Brazil), and Ph.D. degree in Computer Engineering also at University of Campinas under supervision of Prof. Dr. Fernando José Von Zuben (advisor) and Prof. Dr. Arindam Banerjee (co-advisor) from University of Minnesota - Twin Cities. Currently he is a researcher at the Lawrence Livermore National Laboratory (LLNL) in California (USA). Main research interests are in Machine Learning, Deep Neural Networks, Multitask Learning, Structure Learning, Convex Optimization, Probabilistic Graphical Models, Bayesian Models and their applications in complex real world learning problems including those arising from Medicine, Signal Processing, and Climate Sciences.
