Assistant Professor in the Department of Political Science at the Federal University of Minas Gerais (UFMG). He holds a Ph.D. in Political Science from the University of Virginia (UVa), United States of America, as well as an M.A. in Political Science and a B.A. in Social Sciences from the University of São Paulo (USP). He coordinates the Research Group on Political Institutions and Elections at the Brazilian Center for Analysis and Planning (CEBRAP) and the Intensive Program in Quantitative and Qualitative Methodology (MQ-UFMG). He is also a researcher at the Center for Legislative Studies (CEL/UFMG) and co-coordinator of the project "Connecting Parliament and University in Budgetary Governance".
