Full Professor at the School of Nursing, University of São Paulo. Holds a degree in Nursing from the Federal University of São Paulo (1987); a Master's degree in Biological Sciences (Molecular Biology) from the Federal University of São Paulo (1993); and a Doctorate in Health Sciences from the Federal University of São Paulo (1998). Currently, she is the Mayor of the Quadrilátero Saúde-Direito Campus at the University of São Paulo and a member of the Quadrilátero Saúde-Direito Management Council. She conducts studies in the areas of kidney diseases, focusing on the pathophysiology of chronic kidney disease, diabetic kidney disease, kidney disease progression, and acute kidney injury, as well as nursing care for critically ill patients. She is leading a multidisciplinary project on the impact of non-pharmacological interventions in diabetic kidney disease and chronic kidney disease; a project on the use of therapeutic mushrooms in diabetic kidney disease in partnership with the Federal University of Amazonas; and a project on the use of renal biomarkers in cancer patients undergoing chemotherapy, with an experimental design mirroring the clinical one. She is the coordinator of the League of Nursing in Nephrology and Diabetes Care (LENAD). She maintains international partnerships with the University of Florida and the University of Washington.
