Graduated in Electrical Engineering from the University of Itajubá (2002). Completed the Masters (2004) and Ph.D. (2008) in Electrical Engineering, with a major telecommunications at USP - University of São Paulo. In 2009, did postdoctoral studies abroad, in Nanophotonics Groups, at Cornell University, Ithaca, USA. In 2010 receive a FAPESP post-doctoral scholarship at Mackenzie University. In 2024, he completed his postdoctoral research at COPL - Laval University, Quebec, Canada. He is currently an Associate Professor III in the field of telecommunications systems and applied electromagnetism, Research Director, and Deputy Vice-Rector for Research and Graduate Studies at the Federal University of Itajubá. He has experience in electrical engineering, with emphasis on optical telecommunications, mainly in the following areas: optical communications, photonics, fiber optics, photonic crystal fiber, and silicon photonics.
