Holds a bachelor's degree in Biological Sciences from the Federal University of Espírito Santo (2006), a master's degree in Biological Sciences from the same institution (2007), and a PhD in Zoology from the Institute of Biosciences of the University of São Paulo (2014), with part of her training conducted at the Universidad Autónoma de Madrid (Spain). She completed postdoctoral fellowships at the University of São Paulo and the Federal University of Pernambuco, and also worked as a visiting researcher at the Shimoda Marine Research Center (Japan), the National Museum of Nature and Science (Japan), and the Universidad de Magallanes (Chile). She is currently an Associate Professor at the Federal University of Alagoas. She works in the fields of Zoology and Ecology, with an emphasis on the Systematics and Biology of Polychaetes and Community Ecology. She participates in extension projects, notably promoting Ocean Literacy. She serves as a reviewer for national and international journals and as an ad hoc evaluator for the Brazilian National Council for Scientific and Technological Development (CNPq). She has participated in scientific expeditions, including Antarctic operations, and is involved in initiatives for the diagnosis and conservation of marine biodiversity, with significant scientific production in taxonomy, biogeography, and anthropogenic impacts on benthic environments.
