Luis Felipe de Almeida Duarte

Graduated in Biological Sciences, with a Bachelor's degree in Marine Biology, from Universidade Santa Cecília (2004). Master in Sciences from the Instituto de Pesca de São Paulo (2008) and Ph.D. in Biological Sciences from UNESP in Rio Claro, with a doctoral sandwich program at the University of New South Wales, in Sydney, Australia (7 months). Served as Environmental Projects Coordinator at Conservation International (CI-Brasil) (20142015). Completed his first postdoctoral fellowship in Integrated Environmental Analysis at the Universidade Federal de São Paulo (UNIFESP) (2019) and a sandwich postdoctoral fellowship at the Instituto de Ciências Marinas de Andalucía (CSIC), in Spain (12 months). Subsequently, completed his third postdoctoral fellowship at the Oceanographic Institute of the Universidade de São Paulo (USP) (2020) and his fourth postdoctoral fellowship at the Universidade Federal de São Carlos (UFSCAR) (2022). In parallel, taught an online course on "Biostatistics in Practice Using the R Environment," which reached over 2,000 students. Throughout his career, he received six research grants from FAPESP (four in Brazil and two abroad) and one from CAPES (abroad). Currently, he is completing his fifth postdoctoral fellowship within the "Valoriza Pesca" project at the Instituto de Pesca. He is also a faculty member in the undergraduate Biomedicine program at Universidade Santa Cecília (UNISANTA) and a full professor in the Graduate Program in Environmental Science and Technology (PPG-CiTA), where he supervises master's and doctoral students. He is also a member of the UNISANTA Research Ethics Committee (CEP); member of the Scientific Initiation Committee (COIC) and the Scientific and Technological Council of the Institute for Scientific and Technological Research (IPECI) at UNISANTOS. Advisor to the Education Sciences Center (CCEDC) of this same institution. Furthermore, he is a professor in the Bachelor's and Teaching Licensure program in Biological Sciences at Universidade Católica de Santos (UNISANTOS), where he teaches various courses and supervises undergraduate research students.
