Associate Professor at the Luiz de Queiroz College of Agriculture (ESALQ/USP), based in the Department of Biosystems Engineering (LEB), with a consolidated academic career in teaching, research, extension, and university administration. Holds a degree in Agricultural Engineering from the Federal University of Lavras (1998), a Masters in Agrometeorology from ESALQ/USP (2000), a Ph.D. in Agricultural Engineering from UNICAMP (2004), and a postdoctoral fellowship from the same institution (2005). Coordinates the Research Group on Animal Welfare, Environment, and Precision Livestock Farming (GBAZP), where she develops interdisciplinary and applied studies in Precision Livestock, Animal Environment and Agrometeorology, focusing on traceability, sensors, signal and image analysis, and animal welfare, especially for swine, poultry, and cattle.She is responsible for the course LEB5044-1 Precision Livestock Farming I: Principles and Concepts in the Graduate Program in Agricultural Systems Engineering (PPGESA), where she also served as deputy coordinator (20212023). Actively involved in academic management, she serves as a full member of the ESALQ Congregation, the Council of the Department of Biosystems Engineering, the Inclusion and Belonging Committee (CIP), and the Coordinating Committee of the Agronomy Undergraduate Program (CoC), among others. She also serves on the Animal Ethics Committee (CEUA/USP), with extensive experience in evaluating experimental research protocols.She coordinates research projects funded by FAPESP, CNPq, private companies, and international institutions, including collaborations with the University of NebraskaLincoln, University of Illinois at Urbana-Champaign (UIUC), University of Évora, Roboagro, Sadia, Korin, and Fazenda Colorado. She is the author of several peer-reviewed journal articles (JCR-indexed), book chapters, and holds the patent BR5120230007633, related to the GRT Suínos system for managing thermal risk in swine production. Her work has been recognized with awards, including the Superior Paper Award from Transactions of the ASABE and national honors in innovation and animal environment congresses.She is currently preparing for an academic leave abroad at the University of Illinois at Urbana-Champaign (UIUC), where she will engage in collaborative research within the Department of Animal Sciences, further expanding ESALQs international partnerships and strengthening the GBAZPs scope of action.
