Lucila Castanheira Nascimento

Lucila Castanheira Nascimento, RN, PhD, is a Full Professor at the University of São Paulo at Ribeirão Preto College of Nursing, Brazil, WHO Collaborating Centre for Nursing Research Development, where I have been working since 2000. Head of the Department of Maternal-Infant and Public Health Nursing. She received her Bachelor of Science in Nursing (1991) from University of São Paulo at Ribeirão Preto College of Nursing. Master of Science in Nursing (1999), University of São Paulo at Ribeirão Preto College of Nursing. PhD in Nursing (2003), University of São Paulo at Ribeirão Preto College of Nursing, Brazil and University of Victoria, BC, Canada. She did her post-doctoral studies in University of Alberta School of Nursing in 2005, focusing on the care of children and adolescents with chronic conditions and their families. During her academic career, she was Vice Dean of the WHO Collaborating Centre for Nursing Research Development (2007-2012) and Dr. Nascimento served as the Vice-President (2006-2008) and President (2008-2010) of the Rho Upsilon Chapter, Sigma Theta Tau International, the Honor Society of Nursing, Brazil. During the period of 2014-2017, she was also the President of the Inter-institutions Doctoral Program in Nursing, developed jointly with the University of São Paulo, School of Nursing and the University of São Paulo at Ribeirão Preto, College of Nursing and Vice-President of the same program during the period of 2012-2014. He is currently a board member of the Sigma Theta Tau International Honorary Nursing Society, Rho Upsilon Chapter and a founding member of the International Family Nursing Association. He is a research productivity fellow at CNPq, level 1D. He is the leader of the Nursing Research Group on Child and Adolescent Care GPECCA and member of national and international research groups. He is a member of the Research Committee of EER /USP. She is an ad-hoc consultant for several national and international journals and an associate editor of international and national periodicals. Dr. Nascimento develops multi-center collaborative projects with foreign cooperation with researchers from Canada, the United States, Portugal and Spain and has more than a hundred publications, published in high-quality journals. Her research focuses on Pediatric Nursing, acting on the following subjects: Nursing, Family Health Care, Chronic Diseases, Family Nursing, Oncology Nursing, Child and Adolescent Health and Family studies..
