Professor of graduate program of physics at the Institute for Aeronautical Technology (ITA) and emeritus senior scientist at the National Institute for Space Research (INPE) . Working in nonlinear dynamics and complex systems with application to plasma physics, space physics, astrophysics, geophysics, economic dynamics, and biomedical engineerting. Recipient of a Guggenheim Fellowship from USA in 2010, a Marie Curie International Incoming Fellowship from European Commission in 2011, a Fulbright Fellowship from CAPES-Fulbright Commission in 2015, and Special Visiting Professor (PVE-CAPES) of the Institute for Aeronautical Technology (ITA) in 2015-2018.
