Raul Gonzalez Lima graduated at Escola Politécnica from Universidade de São Paulo (1985) on Mechanical Engineering, obtained his master's degree on Mechanical Engineering from The Universidade de São Paulo (1990) and his Ph.D. degree on Aerospace Engineering from The University of Texas at Austin (1995). In November 2009 he received the title of Livre-Docente and Associate Faculty on Biomechanics from the Universidade de São Paulo. He coordinated the agreement Philips/Poli/FDTE on Electrical Impedance Tomography to monitor the lung at bedside from 2011 to 2012. In March 2017 he received the title of Full Professor in Mechanical Engineering at the Universidade de São Paulo. Has experience in Biomedical Engineering, focusing on Inverse Problems on Medical Images, acting on the following subjects: electrical impedance tomography, ultrasound tomography, biomechanics, finite elements and structural dynamics. He is head of the Mechanical Engineering Department and coordinates the Ethics and Human Rights Committee of Escola Politécnica. He received the distinction of Professor do Ano 2020 given by Associação dos Engenheiros da Escola Politécnica and Personalidade da Engenharia 2020 in Helath from the Sindicate of Engineers of The State of São Paulo. He is the coordintaor of INSPIRE emergencial lung ventilator. He received the Medal Armando Sales Oliveira from The University of São Paulo. (Source: Lattes Curriculum)
