Undergraduate in Letras English-Portuguese and respective Literatures; Master in Philosophy of Education from Pontifícia Universidade Católica de São Paulo (1990) and PhD in Language and Education from Universidade de São Paulo (1999). Associate Professor at the University of São Paulo and Senior Professor at the Graduate Program in Linguistic and Literary Studies in English at the Faculty of Philosophy, Languages and Human Sciences at USP. Conducted postdoctoral research at the University of Manitoba (Canada). Co-founder of the Brazilian Nationwide Literacy Project: Language, Culture, Education and Technology (2015-2021) and the Nationwide Teacher Education Project "New literacy, multiliteracies and foreign languages" (2009-2015), both registered on the CNPq Directory of Research. has co-coordinated the Knowledge Exchange Pilot Project and Research Proposal: Literacies and Languages #8203;#8203;in Teacher Education, University of São Paulo, Brazil and University of Illinois, Urbana-Champaign, USA (USP-UIUC Pilot Project). Her recent research focuses on Language and Education, Literacies (New Literacies, Multiliteracies, Critical Literacies, Visual and Digital Literacies), Critical Pedagogy, Critique, Epistemology, Meaning Making, and Teacher Education.
