Graduated in Medicine from PUC-Campinas (1992), holds a Master's degree (1998), PhD (2002), and Livre-Docência(2011) from the Department of Obstetrics and Gynecology at FMUSP. Currently, she is a Full Professor in the Discipline of Obstetrics at the Department of Obstetrics and Gynecology at FMUSP, Vice-Head of the Department of Obstetrics and Gynecology at FMUSP, and Head of the Division of Obstetrics and Gynecology at HU-USP. She is responsible for the Undergraduate Discipline in Medicine at FMUSP (6th-year Internship) and the Graduate Strictu Senso Discipline - Statistics Applied to Obstetrics and Gynecology. She also serves as the Coordinator of the Graduate Program in Obstetrics and Gynecology at FMUSP, is a Member of the Permanent Evaluation Committee (CPA-USP), and President of the Teaching Activities Board (CAD-USP). She leads Research on COVID-19 and pregnancy at FMUSP.Also held the position of President of SOGESP - the Association of Obstetrics and Gynecology of the State of São Paulo (2018-2021) and as President of the Research Committee at FMUSP (2018-2022). She participated in FIGO (International Federation of Gynecology and Obstetrics) initiatives, representing Brazil in signing the FIGO Global Declaration on Hyperglycemia in Pregnancy. Author of over 270 articles published in PubMed-indexed journals (many with international collaborations), she has supervised the following researchers: 2 undergraduate research students, 19 master's students, 10 doctoral students, and 3 postdoctoral fellows.She receives research funding from agencies such as FAPESP, CNPq, Capes, Zika Alliance, and the Bill Melinda Gates Foundation. She is the principal investigator of the thematic project "Fetal Mortality: Challenges of Knowledge and Intervention" (FAPESP-2016/0776-5), the CAPES project "Exploratory Study on COVID-19" (CAPES-88881.504727/2020-01), and the principal investigator of the Brazilian Obstetric Observatory (MCTI/CNPQ/MS/SCTIE/DECIT/Bill Melinda Gates Foundation-445881/2020-8).
