Major in Biology from Universidade Federal do Paraná (1989) and Ph.D in Biochemistry from Universidade de São Paulo (1993). Sandro was a Pew Latin American Fellow at Harvard University from 1995 to 1998. He was an associated member of the Ludwig Institute for Cancer Research in São PAulo - Brazil. Presently, he is a Professor of Bioinformatics at UFRN. Sandro was elected a "Young Global Leader" by the World Economic Forum in 2009.
