In 1994, coincidently, two Brazilians novelists, Rubem Fonseca (1925) and João Silvério Trevisan (1944), wrote about the life of two national musicians of the century XIX: Carlos Gomes (1836-1896) and Alberto Nepomuceno (1864-1920).
