The main goal of this work is to present a study on a primary obstruction to the existence of a homotopy between a given map f and a topological embedding between topological manifolds (generalized manifolds). Moreover, to present some consequences and applications related to such a class.
The objective of this research project is to approach some concepts, techniques and applications of Algebraic Topology. Firstly, some topics in general topology will be studied, which are prerequisites for the subsequent development of the fundamental group, covering spaces, classification of covering spaces and applications.

This project proposes the study of the Newton polyhedron of mixed polynomials in n-variables, along with non-degeneracy conditions. The main focus is to identify sufficient conditions, whether involving non-degeneracy or not, to ensure link equivalence in the members of one-parameter families of mixed polynomials.
