Gustavo Gilson Lacerda Costa holds a Bachelor's degree in Computer Science from the Federal University of Sergipe (2003) and has been working in the field of Bioinformatics since 2001, starting during his undergraduate research. He has consistently contributed to multidisciplinary research projects, focusing on genomic data analysis and computational support for life sciences. From 2003 to 2017, he collaborated with several research groups at UNICAMP, including the Bioinformatics Laboratory at the Institute of Computing, the Hematology Center, CBMEG, LGE-IB, and LACTAD. During this period, he acquired broad experience in genomics, transcriptomics, genome assembly and annotation, gene prediction, RNA-Seq, exome analysis, and comparative genomics.Since 2017, he has been part of the technical staff at CENAPAD-SP (National High-Performance Computing Center São Paulo), where he manages supercomputing infrastructure used by research groups across Brazil. His responsibilities include HPC system administration, scheduler configuration (PBS Pro), containerization with Docker and Apptainer/Singularity, orchestration with Kubernetes, virtual environments, distributed computing with MPI, scientific software deployment via Conda and Spack, module management (environment-modules), and automated provisioning using xCAT.In recent years, he has focused on developing AI-powered tools to support HPC user services, applying generative AI techniques such as retrieval-augmented generation (RAG), embeddings, and semi-autonomous Linux agents. He also provides specialized computational support to researchers in the biological and health sciences and regularly teaches courses and workshops in Bioinformatics, Linux, and Python within the Unicamp ecosystem. He has co-authored 29 peer-reviewed articles in international journals, holds a granted patent, and has a registered software. He was recognized in the UNICAMP Inventors Awards in 2021, 2022, and 2024 for achievements in patent granting, licensed intellectual property, and market-adopted technologies. He has also received honorable mentions in national and international scientific competitions in the field of bioinformatics. (Source: Lattes Curriculum)
