Abstract

Multicomponent reactions between phenols, beta-ketoesters, and benzaldehydes for the synthesis of 4H-chromenes derivatives promoted by niobium pentachloride (NbCl5) were carried out, providing good yields and reasonable reaction times under mild reaction conditions.
