Abstract

The new species Sinningia minima (Gesneriaceae) from Serra dos Carajas (Para, Brazil) is described and illustrated. It is readily distinguished from its congeners by its minute size, being smaller in all vegetative and fertile organs than any other Sinningia species. It is also the first member of this genus registered for the Para State. New floristic data and an identification key to the Gesneriaceae from the Serra do Carajas are also provided. (AU)
