Abstract

Abstract The phenomenon of people living on the streets and their (in)visibility is a social construct composed of processes that cross and intensify more or less in certain historical moments. This article presents the scientific initiation research, promoted by FAPESP, which investigated the intersections between arts and the regimes of visibility between 2014 and 2015 in the city of Santos (SP). Some clues of the cartographic method were followed on some investigative fronts being the main ones: the analysis of field experiences, the bibliographical review, interviews with homeless people who participated in theater workshops, and with street actors. We understand art not only as an object of study, but as a tool of research and approach among people, since it can assist in the apprehension and production of other forms of cohabitation in the city, ensuring a resonance of the voices of the street for spaces little sensitive to them.
