Abstract

The Sao Paulo potential is a parameter-free model for the real part of the nuclear interaction. It is based on nonlocal quantum effects which are related to the exchange of nucleons between projectile and target. This model has been widely used to study the description of heavy-ion elastic, inelastic, transfer, and fusion processes. A summary of the theoretical model and a few applications are conferred in the present manuscript. (AU)
