Abstract

In this paper, we discuss the well-posed ness of the Cauchy problem associated with the third-order evolution equation in time u(ttt) + Au + eta A(1/3)u(tt) + eta A(2/3) u(t) = f(u) where n > 0, X is a separable Hilbert space, A : D(A) subset of X -> X is an unbounded sectorial operator with compact resolvent, and for some lambda(0) > 0 we have Re sigma (A) > lambda(0) and f : D(A(1/3)) subset of X -> X is a nonlinear function with suitable conditions of growth and regularity.
