Abstract

This paper presents a new approach to estimate transmission line parameters based on Phasor Measurement Units (PMUs) data. Such approach considers a new set of phasorial equations incorporating noise on the model and a solution based on the Minimum Variance Unbiased (MVU) estimator. We investigate the performance of the proposed method for different loads, noise conditions, and the number of samples. Our results showed that the proposed method has a good performance compared with the estimators present in the literature. Moreover, the solution has proved to be steady and predictable for all simulated conditions. (AU)
