| Abstract | |
Abstract The article discusses some aspects of the Brazilian Law od Inclusion (LBI) focusing on certain tension points, that is, the changes on the legal concept of disability, in the transformations of the legal status of people with intellectual disabilities from the figure of ‘supported decision-making’ and the effects of such transformations on the emergence of people with intellectual disabilities as subjects of sexuality. For that, I propose to analyze the LBI as an ethnographic artifact. In this way, I focus on the form and content of the Law and I explain the existing interconnections between the LBI and some other laws. Furthermore, based on two situations arising from my field research, I inquire about the limits, possibilities and ambivalences that exist between legal practice and the ordinary experiences of the subjects of sexuality.
