Abstract

Gamma-alumina is a very important material industrially due to their use in adsorption and catalysis. The nanopanicles of aged pseudoboehmites materials with high specific surface area are being recently studied for the controlled release of drugs. Pseudoboehmites was synthesized by the sol-gel process and gamma-alumina with high purity was obtained from pseudoboehmite aiming their use in controlled release of drugs. The gamma-alumina was characterized by several techniques such as X-ray diffraction, scanning electron microscopy, differential thermal analysis, thermogravimetric analysis and nitrogen isotherm adsorption.
