Abstract

Lettuce as known a typical plant of temperate climate-Some genetically improved lettuce cultivars have tolerance to high temperature and make its cultivation possible through out the year. The present work had the aim to evaluate the yield of six cultivars from creasp head group, produced in soil and in hydroponics system in winter and summer seasons. The experiments were conducted under protected ambient, at UNESP, Jaboticabal, SP. The experimental design was a randomized blocks with three replications. The fresh and dry mass of aerial part were influenced by planting time (winter or summer) but not by crop system (soil and hydropony). Summer season reduced yield by 28% on fresh mass. (AU)
