Abstract

The increasing concentration of ethylene in plant has been related to the damage caused in the abscission of flowers and pods, as well as reduced nodulation on bean, occurring in periods of high air temperatures, this hormone is produced in plants initially with the formation of carboxylic-acid-aminociclopropano (ACC). On the other hand, it is known that the presence of rhizobacteria in plants can inhibit ethylene formation by deamination of ACC, carried out by the enzyme ACC-deaminase, in addition to trigger other biochemical changes in plants, when in stress conditions. Bacillus subtilis has great potential to mitigate the damage caused in plants by water, as: stresses salt and pathological. Proposed in this study to evaluate the effect of ethylene on flower abortion, nodulation and growth of bean, subjected to thermal stress, with or without inoculation of Bacillus subtilis, under controlled conditions. Will be studied also the transcriptional profile of genes involved in the biosynthesis of ethylene, such as: ACC synthase and oxidase. By biochemical and genomic analysis can evaluate if the inoculation of B. subtilis, using strains with high and low activity of ACC deaminase, verified in vitro, can influence the concentration of ethylene in plants and/or mitigate the damage of the thermal stress in bean. Finally, check the tolerance of different genotypes evaluated the thermal stress and the same behavior as ethylene concentrations in their tissues and damage to your development (AU)
