Abstract

The proposed application aims to consolidate a collaboration between two well-established research groups at the University of São Paulo, Brazil, and the University of Manchester, UK. Here, we propose visits and exchange of faculty staff and PhD students, which will allow us to develop qualitatively ongoing projects, provide training to postgraduate students through seminars and workshops, and plan new collaborative grant applications, such as BBSRC-FAPESP and MRC-FAPESP joint funding of research. We see this SPRINT application as an opportunity to develop a long-term collaboration that will lead to an advance in our understanding of macrophage metabolism and its role in tumour development, a common research area between the groups.
