Abstract

Virtual laboratories allow experiments to be carried out at a distance by users who have an internet connection and can be used in industrial and educational environments. In educational environments, simulation is one of the associated tools that contribute to the pedagogical complementation of the classes. For the realization of more realistic and remote thermodynamics experiments, it is necessary to integrate more elaborate sensor functions through commands executed by the users through computers connected to the internet. Users can also view the entire experimental procedure as well as the occurrence of the phenomenon. It will be important the knowledge and use of sensors and transducers that are used to perform the data acquisition in the real experiments and the actuators that are used to change the desired parameters in order to build the virtual simulator. These input and output variables are fully controlled by software connected to the internet. Some advantages of the simulated experiment can be highlighted, among them: * Longer use of the experiments because they are 24 hours a day, 365 days a year, providing a higher yield. * Interaction Forum. A discussion forum can provide inquiries and get potential questions about the simulator. * In the organization of the laboratories it is not necessary to keep them open, if they are online. * Students and teachers can better organize their time, in a similar way to class schedules. *Remote laboratories can be made available to society anywhere in the world for lectures and continuing teacher training courses. It is expected at the end of the term of this project that the virtual simulator is ready and in the testing phase to begin the market prospecting of the EaD universities. (AU)
