Abstract

During the visit the researcher will discuss the results, assist in the writing of scientific articles and will teach a discipline about feeding strategies of grazing cattle. Data from the first two years of evaluation of experiment II (supplementation strategies) of the thematic project "Management strategies to reduce environmental impacts in beef cattle production systems" will be analyzed. The treatments were constituted of four strategies of supplementation for the grazing animals. In the two years, these strategies included mineral mix, supplement using energy from maize associated with cottonseed meal, supplementation with 50% substitution of protein source by distillery with soluble solids (DDGS), and supplement with 100% of substitution of the protein source by DDGS. Results of consumption, digestibility, metabolic and ruminal parameters, nitrogen balance and performance of bulls during rearing and finishing will be analyzed. (AU)
