Mesoporous silica-coated gold nanostars for photodelivery of curcumin

Abstract

The aim of this proposal is to start an international partnership by means of international visits for knowledge exchange, and strengthen international engagement in research activities. We are focused on the synthesis of nanosystems for light-controlled release of curcumin. Nowadays, the development of antimicrobial resistance is a world threat and a challenge for the health field, and nanotechnology is an emerging and promising approach applied in many areas, including the medical field and microbiology. This collaboration will contribute to advance our knowledge in the field of nanotechnology applied to antimicrobial/antibiofilm studies and expand our international collaboration network. (AU)
