Abstract

The Institute of Biomedical Sciences of the University of São Paulo has vocation for conducting basic, applied and clinical research in health, as well as innovation and biotechnology. The consolidation of this vocation is represented by the extensive scientific production of our community, concomitantly with the continuing education and training of personnel associated with research activity at all levels, from scientific pre-initiation to postdoctoral research. Our Institution is responsible for a considerable portion of the intellectual / scientific production of the University of São Paulo, maintaining agreements of scientific collaboration and innovation with public and private institutions, both national and international. The extension of our research activity and its dissemination requires ongoing support with regard to the supporting infrastructure and the maintenance of spaces and equipment essential to the conduct of these tasks. Thus, we have privileged the collaboration and sharing of equipment, spaces and basic infrastructure, ensuring frank interaction between researchers and rationalization in the use of available resources. Thus, the present proposal intends to meet the needs of our Unit (and the respective collaborations) considering the multiuser spaces, the facilities of specific techniques used throughout the community, as well as the animal houses, ensuring the basic operating conditions for continuity and expansion of the research conducted here.
