Abstract

This proposal is rooted in the context of the importance of work accidents in Brazil and the stagnation in France. We understand prevention as a collective activity carried out over time, space and multiple partners. The activity of prevention can be conceptualized as a partially improvised orchestration of collaborative performance (Engeström 2008). It can be approached at three levels: 1) a network for workers' health and safety surveillance developed by public agencies; 2) the collective activity of injuries/work-related diseases prevention; 3) the self-protection of the workers. This research aims to: 1) understand the collective activity of prevention at these three levels; 2) identify potential areas for development of this activity; 3) support innovation in this collective activity of prevention by mobilizing Change Laboratories (Virkkunen & Schaupp 2008) and simulation methods from the critical pedagogy (Freire, 1970). This work will be performed in Brazil and France enabling to compare and improve the prevention activity in both countries. (AU)
