Abstract
This joint proposal aims at the creation of new printable peptide-polysaccharide conjugates with antimicrobial properties and the establishment of a fruitful collaboration on biomaterials research. Antimicrobial peptides (AMP) will be isolated from yeast at the Interfaculty School of Bioengineers of University Libré de Bruxelles - ULB, Belgium. The conjugation of AMP with alginate and carboxymethylcellulose acetate butyrate (CMCAB) which will be accomplished by carbodiimide chemistry, at the Institute of Chemistry, University of São Paulo, Brazil. AMP-polysaccharides will be processed using different 3D bioprinting and electrospinning facilities, which are available at both institutions (AU)
