Abstract

The School of Public Health (FSP) of the University of São Paulo discussed the application of the Technical Reserve for Institutional Infrastructure of FAPESP 2020 in its internal Research Committee and in its other appropriate instances. It was decided that, due to the current situation categorized by the covid-19 pandemic and the other demands brought by the large amount of data ("big data) collected in the healthcare area, there is a need to invest in a cloud data storage and processing infrastructure to be used by the institution's various research groups. Thus, a consultation was carried out with the different specialists in the area of FSP and other institutions to assess the current needs that culminated in the present proposal presented to FAPESP. The purpose of using these resources is to qualitatively and quantitatively expand the School's capacities for research and transfer of scientific knowledge of public health interest in the national and international spheres and to Brazilian society, in addition to establishing strategies for management plan and network participation for multi-user equipment aimed at expanding scientific cooperation between research groups.
