Abstract

Currently, serological tests for antibodies detection that indicate previous infection by the dengue virus (DENV) are compromised by cross-reactivity with Zika virus antigens (ZIKV). In addition, there is no product commercially available products that differentiate DENV types (1 to 4) that patients were previously exposed to. This proposal aims to optimize the methodology for obtaining immunobiologicals (recombinant antigens) applicable to serological diagnosis of DENV, aiming at scaling up their production. Results obtained by a company, a Spin-off of the Biomedical Sciences Institute of USP, demonstrated that the proposal is feasible but requires preparation of the team to respond to national and international market's demands.
