Strengthening of the institutional and computational Infrastructure for ICMC's Research Groups

Abstract

This project is intended to apply the portion of the Technical Reserve for maintenance of the ICMC's computational infrastructure, air conditioning of the Achille Bassi library and Luiz Antônio Fávaro auditorium and modernization of the spaces used collaboratively by the graduate students. Regarding the computational infrastructure, the project includes resources for the maintenance and expansion of our cloud infrastructure, known as Cloud-ICMC, applied mainly in the elements of power interruption (UPS), storage and orchestration. Cloud-ICMC, since 2013, has shared the general computational demands of all ICMC research groups, totaling 33. No less important for graduate students is the process of acclimatizing shared spaces. Here we present demands for air conditioning in part of our library, to provide thermal comfort to postgraduate users and preservation of the collection. Another point widely used by the graduate community is the Luiz Antônio Fávaro Auditorium, which is currently instrumented with outdated air conditioning systems, creating discomfort for users, both thermal and acoustic, which is why we also signal as an item of this project. Finally, we designed the adequacy of audiovisual and monitoring technologies, applied to shared environments and applied to expository actions by professors and graduate students, such as the classrooms and the Fernão Stella auditorium.
