Abstract

Orthopedic conditions that require surgical repair using bone tissue replacement are common not only in human medicine, but also in veterinary medicine. This research aims to morphologically analyze the behavior of zirconia alumina nanocomposites scaffolds (SNA-Z) coated with calcium phosphate in induced tibial bone defects on rabbits at different times. The experiment will require 24 New Zealand adult rabbits, randomly divided in 2 Experimental Groups: Group E1 (n: 12), que será subdividido em três subgrupos (E1-30, E1-60 e E1-90): use of SNA-Z coated with calcium phosphate for 7 days in bone failure of the left tibia and Group E2 (n: 12), que será subdividido em três subgrupos (E230, E260 e E290): use of SNA-Z coated with calcium phosphate for 21 days in bone failure of the left tíbia, Control Groups: Negative Control (n: 12), (N-30, N-60 e N-90): bone defect of the right tibia without the use of biomaterial and Positive Control (n: 12), (P-30, P-60 e N-90): use of deproteinized bovine bone in bone failure of the right tíbia. The animals will be evaluated in postoperative immediate, at 30, 60 and 90 days. As a result, SNA-Z incorporation and osseointegration (7 and 21) are expected in induced tibial bone defects on rabbits. (AU)
