Abstract

To improve the performance and greater reliability of the results obtained in Embrapa Instrumentation's laboratories, the following services and material acquisitions are necessary:- Readjustment of the biological samples laboratory, which serves more than 50% of the Unit's researchers, through the readjustment of partitions, air conditioning and electrical installations, as well as the installation of benches, which will allow an increase in the space dedicated to the cultivation of microorganisms, to accommodate users of biological safety cabins and allow manipulations to take place in an exclusive area, space for storage of sterile items and support benches for the materials under analysis, increase in the growing room with positioning of the autoclaves close to the area of washing glassware and materials and creating an area for disposing of contaminated materials.- Preventive maintenance, verification and calibration of an industrial microwave oven, in order to guarantee the reliability of the results obtained in the analyzes that are based on the correct digestion of the samples carried out in it. The resulting digested material is suitable for introduction into equipment capable of quantifying chemical elements such as arsenic, calcium, magnesium, potassium and sodium, which are very important for the Unit's various lines of research.- Acquisition of a horizontal freezer for sample storage in order to inhibit chemical reactions from occurring, causing the deterioration of a sample, as well as to inhibit or delay the growth of microorganisms in certain culture media and storage of reagents that need refrigeration for their conservation.
