Abstract

The aim of this research project is to identify and analyze the relationship between the São Paulo State Universities (Unicamp, USP and Unesp), the public sector and public policies. In other words, it seeks to understand the dialogue, especially through university extension and applied research or in partnership, between the aforementioned Universities, the public authorities and public policies, mainly in the period of 2006 to 2020. Methodologically, this project has a character exploratory and qualitative-quantitative approach, being developed through bibliographic and documentary research activities and primary data collection. As for the survey and categorization of data, this will occur based on the form of organization and systematization of the university extension developed by Forproex (2007), as well as we will use the proposal of the nine methodological and analytical dimensions of the university extension, developed by Cristofoletti and Serafim (2020). Therefore, the project aims to contribute, both empirically and theoretically, to the debate that relates the production of academic knowledge carried out in Brazilian public universities and public policies, taking into account the interactive arrangements between the academic community and the public sector.
