Abstract

The present research is an unfolding of dialogues established, through the Project proposal "CLIMATE CHANGES, EXTREME EVENTS, RISKS AND VULNERABILITIES: the importance of Geography and Cartography in Territorial Management instruments", initiated in partnership between the GEOCART/UNESP Group /CNPq/Brazil and CEGOT/UC/Portugal. The main objective is to systematize methodological proposals for the analysis, diagnosis and inventory of landscapes susceptible to natural hazards, of indirect climatic origin, from the elaboration of cartographic documents, composed of summary information on the hazards of different environments in the landscape, classified such as hydrological risks (floods and waterlogging) and hydrogeological risks (mass movements and landslides). And, for this purpose, in Brazil, the study areas involve 4 municipalities in 3 Brazilian states: Atibaia/SP, São João Del Rei/MG, Rio Claro/RJ and Lavras/MG. The methodological procedures are based on geoprocessing techniques, environmental modeling, statistics and map algebras through the methods of Multicriteria Decision Analysis (AMD) and Hierarchical Process Analysis (AHP). As a result, it is expected: a) a network of international dialogues and partnerships, for scientific exchange between Brazilian and Portuguese researchers; b) unpublished mappings for the 4 study areas, based on the spatialization of areas with greater or lesser potential for disaster risks; c) innovative synthesis cartographies, composed of explanatory captions that bring vertical readings, horizontal readings, and their interactions in the dynamics of the landscape; d) democratization of results in scientific articles (international and national), among others.
