Support infrastructure for the development of research in multi-user laboratory environments and animal facilities

Abstract

The Faculty of Medicine - Botucatu Medical School, has made investments, over many years, to expand its scientific research capacity at the frontier of knowledge. Examples of this institutional commitment include the implementation and functioning of the Experimental Research Unit (UNIPEX) and the Animal Research Unit (UPEA). Both units have spaces and multi-user equipment dedicated to developing scientific research in the area of health. With the growing volume of research that requires experimental validation using in vivo models, there is a need to update and expand the basic infrastructure that serves students, researchers, professors, and technologists, in environments of laboratories and multi-user animal facilities. In order to meet this need, this work plan was prepared by the team of professionals from UNIPEX/UPEA-FMB/UNESP, under the coordination of Prof. Patricia P. Reis, and will allow fulfilling the demands of basic infrastructure for the continuous support of the development of scientific research. (AU)
